Issues pairing with the BFR cuffs
If you're having trouble connecting to your BFR cuffs in the app pairing screen, start with the quick checks below. If the issues persist, you can attempt the following troubleshooting steps as needed.
Quick checks:
- Ensure the cuffs are powered on and have sufficient charge.
- Keep your smart device within close range of the cuffs.
- Confirm that Bluetooth is enabled and that your device supports Bluetooth BLE 4.0.
- (If using Android) Allow location permissions for the SAGA app.
If the cuffs aren't showing in the app:
- Double check that your cuffs are not paired elsewhere with another device.
- If you have used your cuffs previously with a different device, they will remain 'locked' to it as long as the alternate device is within close proximity.
- You'll first need to disconnect your cuffs from the previous device. Open the SAGA app on the original device and press Forget & Disconnect.
- Then, open the app on your new device and re-attempt pairing.
If the cuffs are discoverable but won't pair:
-
Toggle Bluetooth off, wait up to 30 seconds and turn it back on.
- Reboot the cuffs: hold down the power button on the module for three seconds to completely turn off, then on again.
- Restart your smart device.
-
Double check that your cuffs are not paired elsewhere with another device. Follow the steps to Forget & Disconnect outlined above if this is the case.
If you continue to experience connectivity issues:
Try an Airplane Mode reset.
- Turn on Airplane Mode on your smart device, and then restart it.
- Turn off Airplane Mode and wait for the connection to be restored, then try again.
Performing a hard reset
The sensor inside your cuffs that detects limb occlusion pressure (LOP) is sensitive and can occasionally require a reset to function correctly.
- Turn the cuff on and confirm it's powered on; you should see a flashing blue light if so.
- Turn the module over and locate the small reset hole directly beside the serial number. Do not fully remove the module. If needed, gently roll the air bladder to access it.

- With the module powered on, insert a paperclip or straw cleaner into the reset hole and press until you hear a click. Continue holding until the light turns off, then hold for a further 5 seconds.
- Release and the light should come back on.
- Completely close the app and reopen it. Then reconnect your cuffs.
