Do the cuffs require wi-fi and Bluetooth to operate?

The cuffs can be used entirely without wi-fi. All features of the app and cuffs can still operate while offline. However, the cuffs do require Bluetooth connectivity to pair with the app and function properly.

What are the minimum device specifications to run the SAGA app?

  • iOS 15.0

  • Android 5.0

  • Requires Bluetooth LE 4.0

How many air chambers do the cuffs have?

Each cuff module has one singular air chamber.

Do the cuffs have a built-in Doppler, or is a Doppler required?

The BFR cuffs do not come equipped with (or require) a Doppler device. The cuffs utilize a pressure sensor to detect arterial oscillations, similar to a blood pressure monitor. This blood flow information is used to derive limb occlusion pressure (LOP). This design largely eliminates the need for a Doppler device.

Can multiple people use the same pair of cuffs?

Yes, you can share a pair of BFR cuffs between multiple users. The cuffs calibrate to each individual, so it's recommended to recalibrate before each use (this takes between 15 and 30 seconds). Each user can also install the app on their own device where their own calibrated pressure will be saved for future sessions.

Can you control multiple pairs of cuffs from one device?
Not at this time: you can only control one pair of cuffs per device. However, the second-generation BFR cuffs have a Proximity Pairing feature allowing you to easily connect to the correct cuffs if you have multiple devices in the same room.
